George Washington Had Good Etiquette

Saturday, November 17th, 2007

A new blog has been added to the World History Blogging Network. This blog is going to be a great addition to the network. What’s any history site without the presence of George Washington?

Not only is George Washington the father of our country, but did you know he had good etiquette? I can’t wait to learn more about him.

Dr. Samuel Hoff has the honor of blogging about Mr. Washington. He is a professor at Delaware State University and specializes in studying George Washington and that era. This should be very interesting.

Subscribe to Our Feeds

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

We have completed adding all of our feeds to Feedburner. We have added the option to subscribe to each of our blogs from the main page of the site or you can subscribe on each individual blog.

We were also debating whether we should offer a feed that included all of the sites with the World History Blogging Network. But after a little research, we decided to just offer a link to an OPML file. This will make it possible for subscribers to unsubscribe from the blogs that they decide to not follow. The disadvantage of doing it this way is they will not automatically receive the feed of any new sites. In the future, we will post when new blogs are added so that you know.

Doing the research we did find a plugin that does create a site wide feed with Wordpress MU. We may offer the feed in the future, especially if it is requested a lot.

Somebody needs to do a Wordpress MU plugin that automatically updates an OPML file. Download our OPML file created by Feedburner to subscribe to all of our blogs.

Starting Feedburner Integration

Thursday, August 9th, 2007

Since we are just getting things started, we are trying to integrate our blogs with many services that will allow us to expand our offerings. We decided to start out with Feedburner.

Feedburner will give us lots of control over our feeds and will allow us to know how our feeds are doing. It will also allow us to expand our offerings. In short, it will improve the quality of our content.

To get started, we have created a news feed for the site. Subscribe to it if you are interested in keeping up with the new features that we will be releasing in the near future. Also, we are planning to also write about new blogs as they are added and anything else that we find interesting and pertinent to the World History Blogging Network.

We are now working on getting our current blogs integrated with Feedburner. More updates soon.

Worldhistoryblogs.com Is Now Up And Running!

Thursday, June 7th, 2007

Welcome to Worldhistoryblogs.com. The site has finally gone live. We are currently in the process of moving all of our blogs on the network. This will take about a month. During this month, we will also be adding new features that will enhance your experience on the site. Please let us know if you are interested in any feature in particular.

Our site is a collection of blogs written from the perspective of different historical figures, commenting on today’s news stories and issues. On every Worldhistoryblogs.com, a modern-day writer expresses the way a historical figure might respond to the political, social, and other events that are happening today.

Please keep on coming back for updates. Our blogs can also be subscribed using your favorite blog reader and RSS.

Let us know your thoughts on the new network.
